Privacy NoticeBBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty has landed another presenting role, this time with BBC Radio 5 Live’s Must Watch podcast. The beloved presenter, who graces our screens from Thursday to Saturday each week alongside Charlie Stayt, will be stepping in to replace current host Nihal Arthanayake, who has stepped down after eight years. TV critics Scott Bryan and Hayley Campbell will continue their roles on the show. The new line-up, including Naga, will guide listeners through the best and worst of TV and streaming content, offering advice on must-see shows. While Naga hasn’t yet commented on her new role, co-star Scott announced her arrival on X – formerly Twitter.

He said: “Must Watch is back from next Monday at a new time, with a new host,” adding: “Naga Munchetty (@TVNaga01) will be with Hayley and I every Monday taking us through the best (and worst) on television.” He also revealed a new broadcast time of 1pm on Mondays and reminded listeners that the podcast would be released weekly, reports Birmingham Live. The announcement sparked mixed reactions, with some fans excited about Naga’s new role but others concerned about her potentially overlapping schedule with her other BBC Radio 5 Live duties. Naga, widely recognised for her work on television, is equally engaged in the world of radio, presenting on BBC Radio 5 Live every Monday to Wednesday, from 11am to 1pm. After her latest career achievement was announced, it appears changes have been made to fit Naga’s busy schedule. Broadcaster Scott Bryan took to Twitter to clear up any confusion, revealing that from Monday, September 2, Naga’s duties on Radio 5 Live will be extended to carry on till 2pm.

A bit puzzled, one fan posted: “I’m confused Naga’s show finishes at 1pm doesn’t it? ” prompting Scott to clarify: “From next week it ends at two.” Naga, who is also a keen golfer, has been with the BBC Radio squad since 2020 after taking over from Emma Barnett. Chatting to Radio Today, at the time, Naga couldn’t hide her elation, saying: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the 5 Live team. I have always wanted to work more in radio and after such an enjoyable experience presenting on the station recently, I jumped at this opportunity.” The broadcaster continued: “5 Live has one of the most passionate, engaged audiences in radio. The prospect of talking to those listeners every week really excites me. I can’t wait to get stuck into the role from January.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
