Privacy NoticeBBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty gave a thoughtful spoiler alert to viewers, advising them to ‘leave the room’ if they didn’t want to hear about the latest Celebrity MasterChef final results. The 49 year old broadcaster returned to our screens on Saturday morning, co-hosting with Charlie Stayt, and the conversation quickly turned to Friday’s thrilling finale of the celebrity cooking show. The winner of the BBC culinary contest was just moments away from joining them on set, but not before Naga advised those who missed the tense episode to ‘turn the telly down’ to avoid spoilers. Naga then solemnly announced: “If you are a fan of Celebrity Masterchef and you didn’t watch last night’s final this is your warning to look away, leave the room and turn the telly down because after six weeks the winner.”

Friends fear Vanessa Feltz is doing ‘too much’ as they beg her to ‘take her foot off the gas’ after hospital dash

After a dramatic pause, she revealed: “I’m about to say it, the winner was Strictly Come Dancing professional Vito Coppola, who impressed the judges with his Italian dish,” reports the Mirror. The emotional segment continued as viewers saw the joyous moment Vito was declared the winner in the fierce competition, beating Line Of Duty actress Rochenda Sandall and This Morning TV presenter Craig Doyle, according to the Express. Charlie started the interview by offering his congratulations and asking: “Can we first of all say congratulations. How does it feel?”. An ecstatic Vito Coppola could hardly contain his excitement as he thanked everyone post-MasterChef victory, explaining: “Thank you so much, I feel like when you’re a kid and you have all the butterflies in your stomach and that’s how I felt the entire MasterChef journey.”

Opening up about his anticipation for each culinary battle, Vito said: “Every night before every challenge I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited and that is me today and I feel like in a good way overwhelmed and I get emotional every single time, it feels like a dream. Sometimes I pinch myself because it’s just amazing.” Holding his hard-won trophy closely, Vito revealed its destiny: “For now it’s here but because I have my brother and my cousin here with me, I will give it to them because it deserves to be with my family in Italy. So it’s going to go all the way to Italy and probably stay at my grandparents house.” Despite showcasing his Italian heritage through his dishes in the finale, Vito humbly mentioned his family’s scepticism about his cooking prowess. “I made a deal with my grandmother and she said if I’m going on the show to make her proud she will allow me to cook one meal next Christmas,” he shared.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
