Anchor Charlie Stayt was mid-interview with Tana Adkin KC of the Criminal Bar Association, when the camera suddenly shifted to two stunned crew members outside the BBC Sport studio. The pair darted off-screen upon realising their cameo. The audience wasted no time and rushed to X (previously known as Twitter) to poke fun at the gaffe. One amused viewer posted: “#BBCBreakfast hahahaha. We see ya.” Another joined in with a laugh, “When you didn’t expect to become a star on @BBCBreakfast. Love their awkward looks, as they slunk back off camera! ! ! ” Yet another chimed in, “#BBCBreakfast gone wrong. Smile please,” accompanied by several viewers sharing laughs with a stream of laughing emojis.

In more severe news, today’s BBC Breakfast headliner is the intense Storm Eowyn, which has prompted the Met Office to issue an exceptional red weather alert signifying threats to life. As the tempest lashes across the UK and Ireland, Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland are poised for the worst, bracing for coastal gusts that could reach a ferocious 100mph, reports the Express. Countless individuals are heeding advice to shelter indoors, desist from travel, while numerous schools shut their doors and train services face disruptions in affected locales. Providing regular updates throughout the morning, BBC weather correspondent Sarah Keith-Lucas kept the viewers of BBC Breakfast informed of every twist and turn brought about by Storm Eowyn.

“Some big waves around right across our coasts. We’ve got yellow warnings really across the UK, amber warnings in the north, but more serious red warnings in force across Northern Ireland and central Scotland,” she explained. “Storm Eowyn has been intensifying over the last few days. There’s been a strong jetstream driving it through.” Sarah continued: “So, some really dangerous weather conditions out there due to the force of the wind. A frost and some icy stretches in the morning, but the focus today is on the strength of the wind and do stay at home if you can in those red warning areas.”
