Privacy NoticeThe Florida rapper Ralan Styles – whose real name is Michael Robinson – was shot dead at his home during an alleged attempted robbery. According to local news reports, police were called to the block of flats in Colombia, Ohio, at around 5am on Saturday, October 19, and told there was a man inside the building suffering from a gunshot wound. Ralan, whose X-rated rap version of Baby Shark has amassed almost 2million views on YouTube, was pronounced dead by attending officers at around 5.10am, according to nbc4i.com. Following the shooting, police arrested Mahamood Hassan, 24, and charged him with murder. He is reportedly due to appear in Franklin County Municipal Court today (Monday, October 21).
Ralan and his brother Lil Goat released music together
As well as his Baby Shark remix, Ralan also released music with his rapper brother Lil Goat, who posted a heartbreaking tribute on his social media following the shooting. Alongside a carousel of photos of the pair, he wrote: “Not my lil brother man. I’m still waiting for you to call me and tell me this whole thing is a joke. My heart is [f*****g] broken, i’ll never be the same. “We went from rapping at the lunch table together in middle school, to becoming superstars. We slept on the floor together, we ate together, we fought together, signed our first deal together. I love you bro, and as long as i’m alive you’ll never die. Watch over me. Rest in peace to my lil brother @ralanstyles Save me a spot up there my heart.” Fans of the pair added their condolences to the post, with one writing: “Wow! I watched y’all journey proudly! I send my condolences. You still have hard work to do & a legacy to continue making. I pray for your strength & that God continues to guide you through this difficult time!”
Fans flooded Lil Goat’s social media with heartfelt tributes
Another added: “Omg damn !!! So so sooo sorry !!! Y’alls videos are LEGENDARY !! Heart broken is an understatement!!! This is tragic. Fly High Ralan Styles. you stay strong for us man and continue to be great !!!! We need you to survive with us !!!”. And a third wrote: “This really just broke my heart. These young men videos were good and entertaining. RIP to @ralanstyles this is unbelievable.” According to The Colombus Dispatch newspaper, Colombus police allege that they were given a detailed description of the shooting suspect which led them to arrest Mahamood Hassan several blocks away from the incident in Victorian Village.
