The pair had shared a date eight months earlier, but things went south when Paul ghosted her, leaving Carina shocked and upset at their wedding ceremony. The wedding started off on a sweet note, with Paul expressing his vows in French. “Avec chaque baton de mon coeur, je te choisis comme ma partenaire,” he pledged, vowing to protect Carina and build a life filled with love. While his sincere words won over the guests, Carina’s bombshell that they had previously dated left everyone gobsmacked.

“What are the chances? I know. F sake. Am I gonna get a different guy or what?” Carina vented, clearly annoyed by the unexpected turn of events. She then delved into their short-lived dating past, explaining: “We just FaceTimed and messaged, then went on a hike.” However, she revealed why things didn’t progress further, elaborating: “We were messaging, and I was going to see him on a Saturday night. “Then he said he needed to take someone out, and I never spoke to him again. He ghosted me,” she added. Paul, visibly taken aback, recognised their shared past and confessed he wasn’t ready for a relationship at the time.

“When we first met, I was in a bit of a pickle because it felt like the right person had come along at the wrong time. I was dealing with some tough stuff with work and family,” he confessed. “I had to let her go, even though I didn’t want to. Seeing her now feels like the universe is giving me a second shot.”

However, Carina wasn’t exactly thrilled with this revelation, expressing: “I wanted to go into this blind, not knowing the person. I’m just so disappointed about the whole situation.” Despite the initial awkwardness, Paul remained hopeful. “I want to prove I’m ready for this. She’s a great person, and I just hope she’s willing to give me another chance,” he shared. But Carina wasn’t entirely convinced. “He’s saying all the right things, but my guard is up. I don’t know if this is genuine or just because of our past,” she admitted, leaving fans on tenterhooks about whether this couple would make it or break it. MAFS Australia is launching today in Australia, while a UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
