Privacy NoticeFormer nineties heartthrob Adam Rickitt has left fans stunned with his transformation, looking almost unrecognisable in recent snaps from his latest adventure. The 46 year old former Coronation Street star, who first graced our screens as the original Nick Tilsley back in 1997, now sports a completely different look alongside a new career.  On Sunday 1 September, the actor posted photos on Instagram that showed he has ditched his nineties ‘curtain’ hairstyle for a long, bleach blond surfer-style look that has the approval of his wife, Good Morning Britain’s Katy Fawcett. Alongside a photo of his new look, complete with stubble, he wrote: “Day 1…90% vino or mojito…stupid hair (sorry) but @katyrickitt keeps saying she like it!!!”

Fans were divided, however, with some comparing his look to martial arts star Jean Claude Van Damme and also eighties icon Bonnie Tyler. One wrote: “Jean-Claude Van Rickitt,” while another commented: “The hair is giving Bonnie Tyler and I stan,” and a third added: “the long hair looks great.” However, not everyone was on board, with one fan writing: “As a mother, ridiculous hair!” while another demanded: “Bring back the curtains.” During his initial two-year stint on the Corrie cobbles, Adam was a fresh-faced youngster sporting blond curtained hair and stirring up a complex relationship with Leanne Battersby. After taking a break to pursue a singing career, he made a return to the famous street for another two years in 2002.

He played the character for three years before again stepping away from the soap world. Although he continues to act, and he was last seen on BBC’s Doctors in 2023, it’s his new look that’s got everyone talking, reports the Mirror. Keeping his followers updated on Instagram, Adam regularly shares snaps of his new style, complete with shoulder-length blond hair, a stubbled appearance and an array of tattoos. He’s also bulked up over the years, moving away from his “boy next door” image.

When he’s not acting, Adam is exploring the globe with his wife of 10 years, Good Morning Britain presenter Katy Fawcett. The couple also own the Dexter and Jones craft beer bar in Knutsford, Cheshire, which Adam previously described as their “ultimate passion.” The star took to Instagram on Monday 2 September to share a series of snaps from their romantic getaway in Italy. He looked dapper in a crisp white shirt, his hair slicked back and muscles on full display. He also posted a stunning picture of Katie looking radiant on a balcony, dressed in a red and white floral dress. He cheekily captioned the post: “Me…her…erupting volcano…what can go wrong! ” This comes just a day after he expressed “feeling blessed” to be on this journey with his wife. He humorously added that “couples who trek up mountains together stay together,” sharing a glimpse of their latest adventure with his 73,000 followers.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
