I tried Debenhams’ new Heritage Runway London 1.8.1.8 Clothing Line (Image: Faith Richardson)Autumn fashion is in full bloom and Debenhams has just unveiled its latest seasonal collection. The Runway London 1.8.1.8 range is a celebration of the brand’s heritage, featuring everything from tailored pieces to sequins and knitwear with a boho twist. With 40 items to choose from, I decided to try out some standout pieces to see which ones are worth investing in and style them up to see how well they could be incorporated into my existing wardrobe. One of my absolute favourites from the collection, this timeless classic is made from 20% wool, making it super warm for the colder months. The fringe detail on the sleeves adds a unique touch to the classic cable knit jumper silhouette, and although it could have been a bit softer, the fit, shape and design more than compensate for this minor flaw. I paired it with baggy jeans for a cosy autumn look, but it would also look great with a leather mini skirt or over a midi dress with boots. Runway 1.8.1.8 Wool Blend Oversized Dress With Scarf, £95

The scarf jumper dress combo is a must-have for autumn/winter

Scarf jackets and jumpers have been everywhere this season, but this scarf jumper dress is the ultimate cosy autumn outfit. The scarf is fully detachable, so you can wear both pieces separately, but pairing them together gives you an instantly put together look with minimal effort – just what we need when getting ready in this chilly weather. It also wasn’t too long on my 5ft 4″ stature, which made a welcome change. Like the jumper it’s made from 20% wool and has a heavy feel which makes it hang really nicely – an instant favourite. I wore it with a pair of Jadon Smooth Leather Platform Boots, £200 from Dr Martens, for an easy, cosy look, but it would look just as good with platform trainers or a pair of loafers. Runway 1.8.1.8 Chantilly Lace Pussy Bow Blouse, £45

Boho was a big theme behind Debenhams’ new collection, and this lace pussy bow blouse is the perfect way to bring the trend into your wardrobe. It’s easy and effortless to style and can be worn in a few different ways. The length is just right for leaving it untucked, but the material is lightweight enough it can be tucked into jeans or a skirt without bunching. You can also tie the scarf into an oversized bow, or sling one end over your shoulder and leave the other trailing. I wore it with these 70s-inspired Pocket Detail Wide Leg Jeans from Michelle Keegan’s collection with Very, which are now discounted to £17.70 and almost sold out. However the Debenhams range also has a pair of Button Front High Waist Wide Leg Trouser for £65 which make a great alternative. Runway 1.8.1.8 Check Sequin Strappy Dress, £85

The check sequin midi dress was one of my absolute favourites

Party season is incomplete without a bit of sparkle, and this tartan-print sequin midi dress from the Runway 1.8. 1.8 collection is one of my all-time favourites. It’s form-fitting, flattering, fully lined and of excellent quality, so you don’t have to worry about it being see-through or flimsy. The print is perfectly placed to accentuate your waist and flatter your figure, and I instantly felt fantastic when wearing it. I paired it with Schuh’s Lorella Point Flat Shoes, £38, to show off its daytime versatility, but it could easily be glammed up for a party with metallic platforms and a velvet coat. The Runway 1.8. 1.8 Velvet Lace Insert Dress, was £65, now £39

I’m not usually one for barely-there dresses, but this one offers just the right amount of coverage to feel comfortable while still creating a semi-naked illusion. The velvet panels are thick and supportive, making you feel secure, and the lace has some stretch, so you don’t feel restricted or like it’s constantly shifting. The panels were a little awkwardly placed for someone with curves like me, and it took some adjusting to make them flatter my shape. However, this is definitely a knockout dress that’s perfect for the party season. I paired it with a pair of old jewel-encrusted stilettos from Zara, which are sadly no longer available. But don’t worry, I’ve found the perfect alternative – these Chain-Link Strap Heeled Mules from Charles and Keith. They’re currently on sale, reduced from £69 to £43, reports the Mirror.
