Privacy Notice This Morning’s soap guru Sharon Marshall spilled the beans on a former colleague’s exciting new gig on Coronation Street. During her appearance on the ITV show today, Wednesday 4 September, Sharon couldn’t wait to share the juicy gossip before diving into the upcoming drama in Weatherfield. She proudly announced that Nick Harris, a former This Morning director and the voice in their ears, made his debut on Corrie as Mal Walcott, Joel’s old boss. Sharon gushed on This Morning: “Can I just say? Well done to our former This Morning director – the voice in our ear – who was on Corrie on Monday! He was playing a legal expert and will be coming back by the end of the month.”

Co-host Ben joined in the excitement, saying: “He directed me on Tipping Point too. Honestly, having him in your ear, as you all know, is like having a character from Coronation Street in your ear. Just fabulous! “. Nick’s role ties into Joel Deering’s intense plotline, where he’s dodged justice after his brutal attack on Lauren Bolton, leaving her for dead and now battling for custody of their child, reports the Mirror. DS Swain has become pivotal in the storyline, being among the first to suspect Joel’s dark deeds. Dee-Dee Bailey, Joel’s former partner, is equally determined to see justice served. Vicky Myers, known for her role as DS Swain, recently opened up to The Mirror about the gripping storyline, saying: “He’s done it so cleverly and deviously that he’s duped so many people. He is in a position of trust, and he’s massively abused that trust. I think there is that female empowerment and they shall rise up to bring him down… I hope that’s what happens.”

She added with a sense of conviction: “I think it’s important to have every woman he’s wronged, cos there’s a whole host of women along the line. There’s [that] female empowerment and that is the embodiment of this show, strong female characters. So I feel like he has been ruling the roost for a bit too long. It would be brilliant each of them having their day individually or collectively.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
