Privacy NoticeAmanda Holden has admitted that spending £50,000 in a certain way could potentially cause some marital discord. Jason King, also known as JK, who is currently stepping in for regular host Jamie Theakston, asked Heart listeners how they would spend a tax-free £50k prize while promoting their “big-money game” Heart Show Me The Money. The Britain’s Got Talent judge revealed her plan to make a significant charitable donation with the winnings, telling JK about the 500 cats currently on a waiting list at Battersea Dogs and Cats home. Amanda said: “Yesterday I was at Battersea Dogs and Cats home, I’m an ambassador for them and I have been for years and years. “Very sadly, my friend Jamie, who works down there, told me that they’ve got 500 cats on a waiting list at the moment to come in because there’s been so many abandonments,” reports the Mirror.

“So I feel like I’d make a huge donation to anyone who’s looking after animals who are struggling or suffering at the moment. I don’t mean to sound like I’m an angel but it just really struck me.” Earlier this year, Amanda announced that she had welcomed a new pet rabbit into her family. She shared the exciting news on Instagram with a sweet video of the furry creature. According to the charity, the TV star is also the proud owner of rescue dog Rudie and Muffy the cat. However, co-host JK speculated that Amanda’s generosity towards the charity wouldn’t be limited to just a donation. The popular TV star, after generously offering a massive £50,000, joked that he’d happily take in all 500 cats up for adoption. Amanda cheekily agreed with her co-host but admitted that bringing that many cats home might not sit well with her family.

She said: “I think it’s the cost of living, it’s just people taking on more than they can manage. I would probably have them all, in my back garden and then my husband would leave me.” Amanda is joyfully married to her sweetheart Chris Hughes, 51, for over a decade since tying the knot in 2008. They share their lives with two adored daughters, Lexi and Hollie. Chris, the music industry whiz who works as a record producer, met Amanda in Los Angeles back in 2003. Now, they live together in a luxurious £5million Surrey mansion, which has been showcased in Hello magazine but is also noted as being on the market. Pictures of the duo enjoying a holiday graced the pages of gossip columns recently, with fans noting Chris’s particularly youthful look. Even David Walliams, Amanda’s old mate from the BGT days, teased: “Mother and son. Lovely.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
