But while the celebrity contestants may be yet to kick off the series, a supercomputer has made its predicted who will lift the Strictly Come Dancing glitterball trophy and take the winning crown off of 2023 winner Ellie Leach and her dance partner Vito Coppola. According to the prediction, EastEnders ’ Jamie Borthwick could be the celeb set to walk home with the iconic trophy this year based on his gender, occupation and age.

If he did so, he would be following in the footsteps of soap stars including Ellie as well as Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher, who won in 2019. From the past 21 series of the BBC One show, a whopping seven actors have won. The prediction was made by the the BonusCodeBets.co.uk supercomputer which also correctly predicted that Hamza Yassin, who was almost unknown at the time, would triumph in the 2022 series. It analysed the characteristics of all the previous 21 winners of the show, revealing that the typical ballroom champion is a 31-year-old male actor. A spokesperson said: “With 21 years of the Glitterball trophy winners to analyse, the characteristics of a ‘typical winner’ clearly holds weight on who the Supercomputer says will be the victor this year. “Knowing that history tends to repeat itself, we’re backing Jamie Borthwick to be enjoying a few celebratory pints in the Queen Vic in 12 weeks’ time.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free Meanwhile, if Paul Merson, Toyah Willcox or Nick Knowles were crowned winners of this year’s series, they would become the oldest Strictly Come Dancing winners in history. At present, comedian Bill Bailey is the oldest winner of the show after taking home the trophy in 2022 at 55 years old.

Similarly, Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri would make history as the first winner from her background if she was to win given that reality stars haven’t had much luck in the competition thus far. The predictions come after Jamie, who is known for his role as Jay Brown on EastEnders, and who took part in the Strictly Christmas special last year, opened up about how he was going to navigate his time in training as well as his acting in Albert Square. “I’m not taking a break no,” he said. “I’m still there so I’m doing both shows but we’re lucky – EastEnders is literally filmed across the road, there’s not far to go and I’ve just budgeted that I’m going to be a bit N/A for the next however long.”

With many faces from EastEnders taking to the Strictly ballroom over the years, Jamie also shone a light on the advice that he’d received from some of his co-stars. “Scott Maslen did it back in 2010 I think – he just told me to eat everything, he was constantly eating all the time. “So I’m taking that. But yeah, everyone who’s done it has said it’s just a fantastic experience and told me to just enjoy it , so I’m trying to enjoy every single second of it.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
