Privacy NoticeSam Thompson was crowned King of the Jungle on I’m A Celebrity back in 2022. But his best pal, ex-TOWIE star Pete Wicks, revealed that Sam broke one of the show’s golden rules when he won, by leaping onto the rickety victors’ bridge across the ravine – something that’s banned for very good reason. Supporting his buddy from the sidelines in Oz, Pete let slip on their hit Staying Relevant podcast that, despite clear instructions not to hop onto the unstable structure for fear of it being too high and shaky, an ecstatic Sam couldn’t resist. Pete said: “Yeah, the funniest part is before you get a producer who will have said to Sam on the other end of the bridge, Sam would have been told to stand on a star and Pete is going to come and meet you. Do not JUMP.”

Laughing, Pete says Sam nearly had them both tumbling to the ground after their hug in the jungle

He also confessed he’d had a pre-reunion conversation with a producer who said, “He’s promised me he’s not going to jump.” But leap, Sam did. Pete continued, laughing: “So Sam jumps. We then get a little bit carried away, but I’m supporting both of our body weights on this bridge”, reports the Mirror. Amid their laughter, Pete recalled nearly toppling off as they hugged: “They say you can have your hug but you need to turn around so we can get a shot of both of your faces on the bridge. But at that point, I lost my balance. I had to grab the f***ing bridge to stop us going over, I nearly died!”.

Pete got the rumour-mill going about romantic escapades Down Under – but he has flatly denied them all

He also opened up on rumours swirling about his romantic escapades Down Under, where he was spotted cosy with EastEnders star Danielle Harold and sharing an evening with Nick Pickard’s other half, Sarah Corrin. But on his podcast, Pete put the rumours to bed with a firm denial: “Just on my experience for the whole f***ing thing, we’ll go into that another time properly. I just want to point out that I didn’t sh** anyone’s wife.” Sam added: “Pete got linked to every single person out there. He got linked to Sarah – Nick’s [Pickard] girlfriend, he got linked to Danielle [Harold], he got linked to my girlfriend Zara [McDermott], he got linked to Rochelle [Humes] at one point. I don’t think there were any more women out there to get linked to.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
