Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing appeared to be on the cards for Tasha Ghouri long before she signed up for the latest series. The Love Island star, 25, was confirmed for this year’s BBC dance competition last month and said it was a “dream come true”. On Saturday night she will take to the dance floor for the first time with her pro partner. However, months before it was announced, Tasha was spotted dancing alongside Strictly pro Johannes Radebe, hinting that she could have been snapped up for the show much earlier. The photo shows Tasha and Johannes striking a pose with their arms interlocked in a recognisable Strictly hold during a visit to Cambridge in February this year.

The pair performed at the Meadows Community Centre with Queen Camilla, President of the Royal Voluntary Service also in attendance. They were all smiles on the day, especially with Tasha being such a Strictly fan. Speaking about joining the show, Tasha excitably said: “Pinch me, I can’t believe I’m going to be on Strictly Come Dancing! I’ve been watching the show since I was little – it’s a firm Ghouri family favourite – so this is a total dream come true. I know it’s going to be an unforgettable experience and I hope to represent and make everyone proud out on that dancefloor.” Tasha, who is a dancer and model, shot to fame after appearing on Love Island in 2022. She was the first deaf contestant to appear on the ITV dating show and made it to the final with boyfriend Andrew Le Page, whose she’s very much still loved up with. After the villa, Tasha became a pre-loved ambassador for eBay and modelled for the likes of Ann Summers, before co-writing a book called Hits Different, released earlier this year. On her latest venture, Tasha will be taking to the dancefloor for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing in the hope of lifting the glitterball trophy. Tasha has competed in several major dance events and has even featured in music videos, sparking concern she will have an unfair advantage over her celebrity co-stars. The blonde bombshell and second-ever deaf contestant has shot up in the bookies’ odds since being announced and is currently sitting at a promising 6-1 to win the series, with JLS heartthrob JB Gill just ahead of her at 5-1. “Tasha Ghouri has a huge following on social media, and we think she will prove a big hit on Strictly. She has been installed as the second favourite behind former JLS star JB Gill,” said Coral’s John Hill. Joining Tasha is TOWIE’s Pete Wicks, who was unveiled as the seventh celeb to strut his stuff on the BBC dance floor. Adding to the star-studded line up is, Sarah Hadland, Dr Punam Krishan, JB Gill, Shayne Ward, Nick Knowles, Sam Quek MBE, Paul Merson, Montell Douglas, Tom Dean MBE, Jamie Borthwick, Toyah Willcox, Wynne Evans and Chris McCausland.
