Privacy NoticeA 26 year old man has been charged with the murders of three people in a horrifying crossbow attack. Kyle Clifford is accused of murdering the wife and two daughters of BBC racing commentator John Hunt – he is currently being held in custody and is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday following the incident in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on July 9. He had previously been arrested in connection with the shocking incident. The victims, Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, were tragically found fatally injured at their family home in Ashlyn Close. Clifford faces charges of three counts of murder, false imprisonment and two counts of possession of offensive weapons, according to the police force.

Lisa Ramsarran, chief crown prosecutor for CPS Thames and Chiltern, said: “Our thoughts remain with the Hunt family and all those who have been affected by this tragic incident. “As criminal proceedings are active, there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online that could prejudice the defendant’s right to a fair trial.”

John Hunt had previously spoken out about the overwhelming support he’s received following the tragic murder of his wife and two daughters in the attack. ITV’s Mark Chapman, who is a close friend of the BBC racing commentator, shared that every message of support feels like a “feels like a hug” to Mr Hunt. He also expressed his gratitude for the thoughts directed towards him and his surviving daughter, Amy. Mr Chapman spoke to the BBC about his conversations with Mr Hunt, revealing that each supportive message feels like a comforting “feels like a hug”. He added: “As far as what’s happened, it’s still beyond belief that this could happen to anyone, a family in the world. The message from all of us is when you need us [John], we are here.”

Following the tragic loss of Carol, Hannah, and Louise, Mr Hunt released a heart-wrenching statement. He said: “Notwithstanding the horrid evil that’s swept through our lives, wrecking devastation on an unimaginable scale, the counter to that has been the breath-taking messages of support, some of which are still to be read. At a vigil held in July, Lea Holloway, 60, a childhood friend of wife Carol Hunt, described her as a “beautiful person” and paid tribute to “lovely girls” Louise and Hannah. She said: “We grew up together and were pregnant at the same time. This is the stuff nightmares are made of. I was there the night she met John (Hunt). It was in a nightclub in Hemel Hempstead. We went out together, went to birthdays and events. It’s very difficult. She was the nicest, kindest, sweetest person you could ever meet. A beautiful person.” Ms Holloway continued: “They were a lovely family and (the daughters) were lovely girls. They were making their way through life and their lives have been taken too soon. It’s the thing of nightmares. I feel for their eldest daughter and John (Hunt). I can’t imagine what it would be like.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK! MagazineFacebookTwitterMore OnIn the News
