Privacy NoticeNick Knowles has shared an update on his Strictly Come Dancing journey, revealing that he’s been advised to rest his arm after a car mishap left him injured – while also revealing a fresh blow. The DIY SOS presenter, known for his hands-on approach, alarmed fans earlier this week when he posted a video with his arm in a makeshift sling, explaining the injury occurred while changing a tyre. The 62 year old TV favourite was spotted heading to doctors in Harley Street to seek expert medical opinion before appearing on Strictly’s spin-off show It Takes Two, where he expressed his determination to be ready for the weekend’s performance.

Despite still sporting his sling today, Nick took to Instagram with optimism, telling his followers about the “interesting few days” he’s had and his plans to push forward. En route to practice with his dance partner Luba Mushtuk, he said: “It’s been an interesting few days, that’s for sure. I’ve seen a load of people, I’ve got a load of people trying to make everything work for me.” He continued to share his positive mindset, adding: “I’m feeling good, arm’s in a sling still to make sure that it’s rested when I’m not using it. But today I’m going to try and dance and see what my capabilities are. Luba is trying to prepare a dance that will work for me.” Nick concluded with a hopeful note, expressing his desire to remain in the competition and asking fans to keep their fingers crossed for his ability to perform on Saturday: “It’s a big day for me. I’m really really hoping that we find out that I can dance on Saturday. I’d really like to stay part of the competition, so keep your fingers crossed for me,” reports the Mirror. Nick made an appearance on It Takes Two on Monday, sporting a sling, and shared that he had celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a party. However, after attempting to change a tyre on his car on the way to the celebration, he ended up in severe pain. He revealed: “It was raining and there were big lorries going past. So I tried to do it quickly”, he recalled. “And as I took the tyre off, I basically damaged my bicep and damaged my arm.” To make matters worse, Nick missed his own party due to the mishap.

After expressing his gratitude to the two police officers who assisted him at the time, Nick provided an update on his health, saying: “I’m hopeful. I’ll find out more tomorrow but I’m fully expecting to go into training and I’m really hopeful I’ll be dancing on Saturday.” His dance partner Luba, however, said she would “work around it”. In other news, Nick’s fiancée, 33 year old Katie Dadzee, has claimed that the presenter is a “shell of man” since joining Strictly. Discussing her partner’s condition when he returns home after training, she told Closer magazine: “We knew it would be hard work, but he is shattered every day when he comes back.
