Privacy NoticeArtem Chigvintsev is breathing a massive sigh of relief after his domestic violence charge was dropped. The former Strictly Come Dancing pro, 42, faced a serious accusation last month but has now been cleared as the Napa County Sheriff’s Office decided not to proceed with a case against him, largely because there’s just not enough evidence to back the claim. Absolutely over the moon, Artem shared with E! News that he’s extremely thankful for the truth coming to light and said: “I am incredibly relieved and grateful that the domestic violence charges against me have been dropped.” His tumultuous journey through these allegations was no walk in the park, and he admitted it’s been a challenging period for him, as he added: “This has been an extremely difficult time for me. I am thankful that the truth has prevailed.”

The top priority for Artem now is his young son Matteo, who he shares with Nikki Garcia with and whom he’s currently embroiled in divorce proceedings. Artem’s fighting for joint custody and shared: “He is my world, and being his father is the greatest blessing in my life.” Putting his little boy first in everything, he continued: “All along, my main concern has been for him. I am committed to continuing to provide him with the love, support, and care he needs as we move forward. I am hopeful that securing an equal custody arrangement will help us move on.” In a heartfelt thanks, Artem doesn’t forget those who’ve stood by him through the storm: “I want to express my deepest gratitude to my family, friends, and legal team for standing by me during this challenging time. Your support has been invaluable, and I am thankful to everyone who believed in me and saw the truth for what it was.” Wrapping up his statement, he expressed a desire to look forward and said: “I look forward to moving past this chapter and focusing on what truly matters-continue being the best father I can be.” It appears there are no current charges against Artem; however, it has been stated that the case could get another look from the DA’s office if new information comes to light or previously unknown evidence is uncovered. TMZ was able to get hold of a recording from a 911 call that eventually led to Artem’s arrest. Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

The audio captured features a dispatcher relating that dancer Artem had an altercation wherein his wife Nikki supposedly flung her shoes at him. The dispatch described how the situation escalated from a medical request to an altercation report, with the operator noting: “initially came in as requesting medical, but now he is stating he got into an argument with his wife and his wife threw shoes at RP [reporting party]. There is a child on scene. Medical en route. There’s an active 415 [disturbing the peace] in the background responsible.” Artem later decided against medical aid, which the dispatcher acknowledged by confirming: “RP is stating no medical is needed now.” Post-arrest, Artem was set free later that day, after posting bail for $25,000. This well-known couple, who met as partners on Dancing With the Stars in 2017, didn’t become romantically involved until 2018, following Nikki’s breakup with John Cena. Their engagement came about in January 2020, and they sealed their union with a wedding in Paris in August 2022. Ultimately, Nikki pointed to irreconcilable differences as the grounds for their parting ways.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
