Privacy Notice JLS star JB Gill, who is currently impressing the judges on Strictly Come Dancing, has spoken out about how his wife Chloe feels about his chemistry with professional dance partner Amy Dowden, revealing that at one point she thought they were kissing during a dance routine. On Saturday 12 October, Amy and JB danced a Rumba to You Might Need Somebody, and on Strictly spin off series It Takes Two, JB said Chloe gave her approval for their dance before the show. “I can’t even say it was approval,” he said. “She was literally just like, ‘You need to do this, this is what it is supposed to be, so do it’.” He went on to explain: “It is a more intimate dance – in fact the most intimate dance – so I think that psychologically has its [own thing]. I am a married man and I take that very seriously, so I wanted to make sure that first I did the dance justice but also did the family proud.”

Amy said she loved the routine, but was surprised about judge Craig Revel Horwood’s criticism that the couple lacked connection on the dance floor. She said: “Rumba’s my favourite Latin dance, and I have so much respect for the judges but I’ve got to disagree with Craig [saying] there wasn’t enough connection.” She added: “My husband, the lovely Ben, was sat at home and was like, ‘She danced that with JB as though she was dancing with me.’ He is a dancer himself. We felt really connected, so for the first time I am going to disagree with you there, Craig!” JB revealed that they were so connected in the dance that his wife Chloe, who is also a dancer, thought he and Amy were kissing at one point in the routine. “When I came home, Chloe was like, ‘I definitely felt like there was a connection – at one point I thought you were kissing’. I was like, ‘No, no, I wasn’t kissing.’ As you know she is very supportive.” Sign up to OK!’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free
