Determined to secure their place in the competition, the couple performed an impressive foxtrot to Shania Twain’s hit Man! I Feel Like A Woman!. However it was Gorka’s outfit choice that had everyone buzzing on social media, now known as X. Fans couldn’t help but gush over Gorka’s black PVC trousers and mesh top, reminiscent of Shania Twain’s iconic music video look. “Gorka in a kilt and pvc trousers”, one thrilled fan tweeted.

Another chimed in: “Gorka will find any excuse to wear latex and see through shirts and I love that for him (and us)”, while another was distracted: “There was a dance…? ! …my eyes were firmly on @gorkamarquez1”, reports the Mirror. Another particularly enthusiastic viewer wrote: “This is the reason why @MissGAtkinson is permanently happy @gorkamarquez1 #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing”, tagging the dance pro’s partner, Gemma Atkinson of Hollyoaks fame. Another fan had high praise for the show’s stylist, tweeting: “@VickyGillDesign 10/10 for gorka’s trousers! #thankyou #Strictly” There was even a reference to Gorka resembling a character from The Matrix with their comment, “In the space of 5 seconds Gorka in a kilt and those trousers.”

Meanwhile, Nick Knowles concerned fans when he sustained an injury earlier in the week. The DIY SOS host revealed via Instagram that he’d hurt his shoulder attempting to change a tire when taking his son to a birthday celebration. With an arm in a sling, many wondered whether his ability to dance in Saturday’s Strictly was in jeopardy. While his condition was being evaluated, the DIY guru remained optimistic about stepping onto the dance floor again, keeping his fans updated on social media. However, this resulted in him missing several hours of training. After two days of rehearsals, just as hope was turning into despair, Nick informed his fans that he’d been given the green light to dance this Saturday. Footage from BBC Two’s Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two showed Nick diligently practising his next set of dance moves. He was seen moving both his arms and spinning his dance partner around. Speaking to the cameras, Nick praised: “Luba has been extraordinary. From the moment she knew I was injured she has been looking at alternative ways.
