Privacy Notice Eamonn Holmes has said he’s “proud” to have thrown his former This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield “under the bus” after years working together. The GB News presenter launched into a fresh attack on his one-time This Morning co-star on his TV show this morning – insisting: “I believe he is where he deserves to be.” He told his co-hosts in the wake of news that Phillip is returning to TV to tell his side of the story in a documentary filmed on a desert island tonight: “I am one of the people who threw him under the bus, I am very proud to have done it.” He went on: “This man is addicted to fame. Absolutely addicted to fame.”

Phillip, 62, has spoken at length at being thrown under the bus by TV colleagues, saying that he feels “utterly betrayed” and will never return to daytime presenting., where he was a huge star alongside Holly Willoughby on ITV’s This Morning. He has spoken about three people who wronged him, who he brands “s**ts” of the showbiz world, saying: “I think there are only three s**ts. One of them is a coward who never stepped up in queuegate..” Phillip fumed: “”They know that when you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really b****y good reason to do it. Brand, ambition is not good enough. It’s not a good enough reason to throw someone under a bus.” The 62 year old will appear on Channel 5’s Phillip Schofield: Cast Away, marking his first TV appearance since leaving ITV in May 2023 following an admission of what he called an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague. Speaking about his departure last year he said: “I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning. “Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.” In the wake of the news, Eamonn posted a tweet reading: “Ruth and I deceived and lied to. One day I will tell the story. We had no issue with him being gay, only support. What transpired took us for fools. The man told us complete lies and we unfortunately believed him.” He added in an interview on GB News: “He is a complete and utter dyed in the wool narcissist, everything is about him.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for freeStory SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
