The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Argentinian authorities who revealed that the singer had “jumped from the balcony” of his hotel room, leading to his untimely death. Forensic experts have determined that “the 25 injuries described in the autopsy are compatible with those caused by a “fall from a height.” In an official statement given to The Associated Press, it was stated that Liam “jumped from the balcony of his room,” seemingly ruling out any theories of an accidental fall or foul play. The tragic incident occurred while he was on holiday in Buenos Aires, where he had gone to see his ex-bandmate Niall Horan perform.

Forensic experts further added that Liam had no “defensive type” injuries and that the wounds on his body were “vital and produced at the same time as each other,” concluding that “the intervention of third parties would be ruled out,” according to Argentinian outlet La Nacion. A preliminary autopsy had indicated that Liam died from “multiple traumas” leading to “internal and external bleeding” as a result of the 40-foot descent from the third floor of the hotel. Authorities rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call just after 5pm local time on Wednesday, having been alerted to an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” reports the Mirror. Alberto Crescenti, chief of Buenos Aires’ emergency medical services, confirmed that Liam died instantly due to severe injuries, including a skull fracture. He stated: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free
