Viewers have speculated that he is plotting to setup a villager, after he made a sinister phone call to Belle Dingle from his hospital bed. Since their split, Belle has been hounded by her vengeful ex and the tension peaked last week when she prepared to go to the police to report Tom for his abuse. Dramatic scenes saw Tom threatening to kill her and Belle was forced to defend herself, resulting in the evil vet getting an axe in the back. Miraculously, Tom managed to survive and on Monday’s episode, 30 September, he claimed he couldn’t remember what happened, when the police questioned him. However, it soon became evident that he was playing a twisted mind game with Belle, threatening to reveal the truth to the police unless she visited him in hospital in secret.

With Belle’s next move a mystery and Tom’s plan unclear, some viewers are already theorising who Tom will betray to the police instead. After a run-in Belle’s friend Vinny Dingle and Tom’s previous jealousy over their close bond, viewers think that Vinny might be falsely accused. It was Vinny who found Tom presumed dead in the shed and he didn’t make any attempt to save him, reports the Mirror. One fan speculated: “Toms going to blame Vinnie,” while another said: “Tell me he’s not going to accuse one of the Dingle men, just to try and hurt Belle and her family more.” Another fan said on X: “If he blames Vinny then Belle will own up.” Meanwhile, Daisy Campbell, who plays Amelia Spencer, spilled the beans to The Mirror about what could happen with the dramatic storyline.

Chatting at the Inside Soap Awards, Daisy said: “Oh I want her to team up with Belle! I’m reading the scripts and I’m like, ‘Come on, you’ve got to pull through for Belle’. So hopefully we’ll see some of that.” Defending her character, Daisy said: “She’s not seeing it right now because he’s an older man – you know what it’s like when you’re younger and you’re dating someone who’s two years older than you and you’re like ‘Oh my god! ‘ But she sees him as a man and someone who can protect her so she’s not really seeing that abusive side. I think he’s got to tread carefully because he doesn’t want to get Amelia to realise because Amelia’s the only one on his side right now.” She continued: “I wouldn’t say she’s in danger but keep watching because it’s a soap!
