Onlookers have claimed the two reality TV stars, who have been friends for some time, appeared ‘more than just friends’. Despite Pete, 36, and Maura, 34, consistently maintaining that they are just good pals, witnesses claimed the duo appeared to be the ‘perfect couple’ as they enjoyed a cosy night out just weeks after they were caught sharing a kiss during a boozy lunch in the capital. It comes following Pete’s steamy routine with Jowita, 30, on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night (28 September), fuelling speculation of a budding romance.

Former TOWIE star Pete seemed to plant a smooch on his Strictly partner during their latest show-stopping number on BBC One, but later he was spotted with Maura, sparking rumours that there might be more than friendship between them, reports the Mirror. “They were chatting to Pete’s co-star Wynne Evans and it was very clear they were more than just friends. Things have clearly turned romantic as they were all over each other,” an insider revealed to The Sun. “At one point she ran her hands through his hair under his hat, and they were cuddling loads too. They looked really cosy and comfortable with each other.” OK! has contacted Pete and Maura’s representatives for a comment.

So much so that Pete’s best pal Sam Thompson recently blurted out that Pete is “in love” with Jowita during a chat, only to hastily retract his words. Made in Chelsea’s Sam has been cheering on Pete from the audience as he takes on the Strictly challenge, showing up for his first live show last Saturday. But when pressed about Pete’s rapport with his dance pro, Sam hinted at a special bond. Chatting with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on This Morning, Sam dished on Pete’s dynamic with the 30 year old Polish dancer. Grilled by the hosts, he blurted out: “I think they are in love,” before swiftly clarifying he meant their bond was just friendly. Yet, he couldn’t help but add: “He cares about her so much, the way he looks at her, I’ve never seen it before. I just want to see him happy, he is one of the best people I know.”

But it’s not just Sam who’s picked up on the chemistry between Pete and Jowita. After the duo featured on Pete and Sam’s podcast, Staying Relevant, fans were quick to comment on their connection, especially after a teaser clip was posted online with a playful caption hinting at Sam’s “Sam’s jealousy is 100% under control.” The footage showed Sam joking about being the “third wheeling” as he observed Pete gazing into Jowita’s eyes. During their intimate exchange, Sam was reminded that he had previously described her as a “ray of sunshine” in her yellow waistcoat.
