Privacy Notice The drama hit fever pitch on the latest episode of Married at First Sight, with Charlie Curtis left in tears after being accused of being a “bully”. Tuesday night’s show (October 1) saw Eve Reid confiding in her fellow cast members that her marriage to Charlie was on the rocks. Polly Sellman, seeing Eve’s distress over her crumbling relationship, didn’t hold back her thoughts. Polly advised Eve to exit the unhappy marriage and decided to take Charlie to task shortly afterwards. In a heated exchange, Polly accused Charlie of acting like a “bully”. The term “bully” sent Charlie into a rage, followed by a tearful exit from the scene.

Viewers were left reeling from the explosive episode, taking to social media to express their dismay. One viewer posted: “This is heartbreaking,” reports the Mirror. Another chimed in with criticism for Polly: “What is it with Polly asking Charlie about her relationship with Eve? Who does she think she is? Mind your own!” A third comment read: “I’m sorry but Polly calling Charlie a bully is rich when she’s literally staring her down across the table. Coming across so intimidating.”

And yet another viewer pointed out the irony in Polly’s actions: “Polly’s marriage is a mess but she’s inserting herself into Eve and Charlie’s chaos. Polly is a bully.” Meanwhile, a viewer critiqued the showrunners for broadcasting such cringeworthy drama. The comment read: “It’s rather concerning that #MAFSUK Is allowing this type of behaviour from contestants. It seems to be series after series. Eve is toxic and emotionally abusive and Polly if you ask me acted like a bully towards Charlie. We all love a bit of drama on TV but this isn’t ok.”

As the show unfolded, Polly reached out to Charlie to clear the air, admitting: “I did not take your thoughts and feelings into consideration over the last week, I am really sorry. And I do appreciate you opening up to me with the whole Eve situation because you didn’t have to and you did.” However, Charlie still felt wounded from the altercation and conveyed her feelings. She said: “I appreciate your apology but I don’t think I’m ready to talk to you about my relationship.” Maintaining a guarded stance, she added: “I don’t really know you and I keep my cards close to my chest. What goes on between me and Eve, I just don’t feel ready to talk to you.” Married at First Sight airs Mondays-Thursdays at 9pm on E4.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
