Privacy NoticeEmmerdale’s Tom King, as played by James Chase, is turning to a lawyer as Belle Dingle’s abuse allegations against him are being taken seriously by the authorities – but could this new character double-cross his own client? After being savagely assaulted by his estranged wife, whom he had terrorised, abused and manipulated throughout their relationship and marriage, the despicable vet woke up from his coma and coerced her into visiting him in hospital. This led wedding planner Belle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper, to show him that she was done playing his mind games, and she informed the police about the abuse she had suffered at his hands. In Wednesday 2 October’s episode of the Yorkshire soap, Tom was met outside his hospital room by the police, with two detectives arresting him before taking him to the nearest police station. Once there, Tom attempted to deflect blame with his usual lies – claiming that Belle had actually been abusive towards him and her mood swings were uncontrollable. However, in later scenes, Tom made a shocking confession to his solicitor, reports the Mirror.

Tom’s dramatic request for his solicitor Ollie (Alistair Toovey) to talk as “mates” rather than professionally suddenly took a turn when he revealed he’d deleted the “evidence” of Belle’s supposed abuse on his tablet. The shock intensified when Tom confessed there’s still incriminating footage of his treatment of Belle, which left his legal adviser completely gobsmacked. Meanwhile, little Carl Holliday was seen innocently playing video games on the very device harbouring the scandalous evidence, as his parents Nicola and Jimmy King are none the wiser. So could Tom’s own lawyer ditch him for Belle in an explosive twist? The solicitor might just switch sides to support Belle, especially since half the village suspects Toms wrongdoings, and his case against her is crumbling without any solid proof. It doesn’t look like things will get any better for Tom either; he won’t be seeing any sort of redemption as his departure from the soap looms. Last month, it was revealed that actor James Chase, who’s played Tom since 2023, has hung up his boots on the show. His character’s exit is tipped to be filled with edge-of-your-seat drama, and the audience chatter suggests that kicking the bucket could be Tom’s ultimate downfall. However, before that Tom is set to venture into the village in search of the tablet, which has ended up with Isaac Dingle. Tom decides to destroy it to hide his actions, unaware that Carl is watching him.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
