Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans, familiar to million for his role on the Go Compare TV adverts, has found love again according to reports. Wynne split from his wife, Tanwen Evans, in 2016 and is now reportedly dating events manager and fitness fan Liz Brookes, 50. Wynne married Tanwen in 1999, and the pair share two children, but their marriage broke down eight years ago which coincided with the death of Wynne’s parents, and resulted in his declining mental health. A source told The Sun: “Wynne and Liz met at an event and are taking things slow, but he’s excited about where the relationship might go. He is in a much better place now than when his marriage ended. It’s like night and day – and he is so happy.”

During Mental Health Awareness Week, Wynne explained to BBC Radio Wales exactly how drastically the split had affected him: “It was almost like grief, but you can’t grieve for somebody that’s still there. So, it really affected my mental health, my confidence and my ego – it totally changed me as a person. “It made me very aware of being alone. And, even though I was only 46, I had this irrational fear of dying on my own. I had very dark thoughts and very dark days where I would contemplate all sorts of terrible things. I think it’s obvious what I’m saying, but I don’t want to say it because some people find it distressing. I’m fine to talk about it now, but at that time nothing would help me. I realised that I wanted my life to be over and I did some stupid things.” Wynne was consequently prescribed antidepressants and along with a lifestyle overhaul, turned his life around. When he appeared on This Morning in September Ben Shephard complimented Wynne on his weight loss. To which Wynne said it was down to ‘running and walking’ – he also added that one reason he signed up to the dancing competition was to ‘lose a bit more’.

The opera singer won Masterchef last year and is currently competing in Strictly Come Dancing with Katya Jones. In week two, Wynne and Katya performed a Viennese Waltz which impressed head judge Shirley Ballas so much that she gave him a standing ovation. Fans online even said he could be a ‘dark horse’ and said he could go far this year.
