Privacy NoticeBritish radio personality James Whale MBE has been left devastated and ‘heartbroken’ after another one of his beloved dogs has passed away this year. The TalkRADIO host tragically lost his dog Daisy last week after she had a tumour in her nose. Daisy wasn’t just loved by the radio legend, but also by the nation after she made her way onto our screens in 2016 when she entered the Big Brother house alongside him. The death of Daisy comes after James, 73, said goodbye to his dog LouLou, who passed away from lung cancer in January, and Muttley, who died due to old age a month later in February. James spoke about the heartwrenching loss in his column with the Express.

In an emotional tribute to Daisy, he wrote: “I’ve had to lay Daisy to rest because of a tumour in her nose. She was the most famous of the trio as she entered the Big Brother house with me eight years ago. “And she was adored by everyone.” On the loss of his three beloved dogs, who bear a striking resemblance, James added: “I’m heartbroken. The unconditional love dogs give you is amazing. Unless you have experienced the bereavement of a pet, you can’t possibly understand.” He ended the emotional post with: “Bye-bye Daisy dog as you trot over the rainbow bridge. Lady W and I will always love you.” James, who has two sons James and Peter and two grandchildren Oscar and Ella, landed his big break in 1989 with The James Whale Radio Show that aired late at night on ITV. His high-intensity interactions with guests and callers became his signature trait. Big Brother fans will also remember James from his days on the series back in 2016 – memorable for his outspoken opinions. Earlier this year, James revealed that he was diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer, which had spread to his spine, brain and lungs.

Speaking exclusively to OK! his wife, Nadine Lamont Brown, 58, shared that the disease was what brought her and James together in the first place. She said: “James was married to a lady called Melinda for 50 years and I was married to Simon for 20 years – they both had lung cancer. “James and I only really met in 2018 – our spouses were under the same consultant so we got talking in the local pub because the treatment that my husband was having was initially working really well for him. We hoped it would work for Melinda, too. “Sadly Melinda died first in 2018 and then Simon, in 2020. James and I remained very close friends and started seeing one another. Very quickly James was diagnosed with cancer again – it had come back.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
