Privacy Notice Brendan Cole has dished out his honest views on TV presenter Nick Knowles’ performance in the glitzy world of Strictly Come Dancing. Beloved DIY expert Nick, 62, faced a setback last week due to a knee injury described as “quite painful” after taking a tumble during rehearsals. Nevertheless, despite nursing his knee, former dance floor favourite Brendan who waved goodbye to the BBC show in 2018, believes Nick could do with a boost in his performances, stating he ‘hasn’t been particularly brilliant’. Nick looked downcast over the weekend, as he watched his co-stars strut their stuff from the side-lines. He expressed his disappointment on X, previously known as Twitter, posting a snap of himself sharp-dressed and sofa-bound.

“Gutted not to be out there with everyone tonight on the @bbcstrictly dance floor, but still suited up and cheering them on from the sofa.” Yet even before his unfortunate accident, Brendan, aged 48, feels that Nick needs to elevate his act. Chatting with Sky Vegas, he was candid about who should shimmy away from the show next: “Nick Knowles hasn’t been particularly brilliant so far, but maybe with a week off he might come back and surprise everybody.” This recent stumble isn’t the first injury Nick has encountered since joining the sequin-studded Strictly cast just weeks earlier, reports the Mirror. Back on September 23, only two days following the season’s inaugural live episode, Nick relayed through a video post that he’d sustained an injury while fitting a tyre. Appearing on BBC2’s It Takes Two sporting a sling, he recounted the “painful” incident which occurred en route to a family birthday bash on September 22. In spite of this, Nick managed to get the medical thumbs-up to perform that Saturday.

Nick later confirmed his second injury, revealing it was serious enough to temporarily halt his performances. He shared: “During our first dress rehearsal today, or run-through of the dance number on the stage, unfortunately I damaged my knee and it’s quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for a MRI.” His dance partner Luba Mushtuk chimed in: “Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for the next week and we’ll be back on the dance floor.
