Privacy NoticeFans of the Netflix romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This, which launched on the streaming service at the end of September, are thrilled to have found out that the binge watchable show will be getting a second season, which was announced by Netflix on Thursday 10 October. The series stars Kristin Bell, who is best known for her leading roles in Veronica Mars and The Good Place, as agnostic podcaster Joanne, who meets an adorable rabbi named Noah at a party in Los Angeles and begins a relationship with him that is fraught with problems due to their differing lifestyles and religious outlooks. The OC’s Adam Brody stars as Noah, and the first season followed the couple as they started to date while trying to navigate all the modern obstacles to love, including her raunchy podcast and his critical family, who expected him to marry his ex-girlfriend and never to date a woman who was not Jewish.

The series also stars Justine Lupe as Joanne’s sister and fellow podcast host Morgan, and Veep’s Timothy Simons as Noah’s brother Sasha. The show was created by Erin Foster, who based it on her own love story with her husband, Simon. “This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,” she explained to the press when the show launched. “But I realised that being happy is way harder than being miserable — there’s nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard.” Sign up to OK!’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Fans of the comedy are happy that the story of Noah and Joanne’s romance will continue for a second season, especially as the final episode, while having something of a happy ending, left many threads of theirs and Sasha and Justine’s relationships to be explored. One viewer wrote: “There was no way they were going to leave us hanging like that! So happy,” while a second said: “I’m really excited to hear that! It’s great to know audiences are enjoying it.” A third commented: “What fantastic news! It’s always exciting to see a show return for a second season,” possibly referring to the fact that Netflix have recently cancelled two shows, Kaos and Dead Boy Detectives, that viewers were hoping would return. As well as all the praise for the return of Nobody Wants This, there were a couple of fans of the show who were a little wary of a second season, however, with one commenting: “So excited for my girlfriend to continue to compare me to Adam Brody’s impossible standards,” and another adding: “I hope that they don’t come up with unnecessary drama, love triangles, and other nonsense like that… season 2s can be quite disappointing. It was soooo refreshing to see an emotionally mature relationship in this show.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
