Privacy Notice EastEnders fans have speculated that one major character could be set to die this Christmas – and they’re not happy about it. Viewers of the BBC One show have taken to social media to discuss a potential Christmas storyline after pictures were published which showed the Carter family gathering at a funeral, though one iconic Albert Square resident appeared to be missing from the pictures. In pictures published by The Sun, a white coffin could be seen being lifted into church as mourners gathered around it. Among those in attendance were Lee, Johnny and Nancy as well as policeman Callum Highway.

However, Linda Carter, played by Kellie Bright, leading some fans to speculate whether it was her body in the coffin. “Nancy in her flamingo earrings…em this is not looking good. I will not cope if it’s Linda dying at Xmas #EastEnders,” wrote one social media user on X. “You can’t f*****g kill off Linda after ALL you’ve put her through you b******s! Please be some sort of fake out… #EastEnders,” added another. “If Linda dies we’re boycotting #eastenders,” said a third. Sign up to OK!’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

However, others were more optimistic about Linda’s whereabouts. “This funeral stuff seems way too staged as ‘linda’s funeral’. they kept all the six stuff a complete secret and I don’t think they’d expose the death of one of the biggest characters of the last decade like this, so keep the faith!! #eastenders,” commented one. Another added: “OK OK HEAR ME OUT. SURELY IF IT WAS LINDA THE COFFIN WOULD BE PINK… RIGHT?? #EastEnders”. Someone else wrote: “Omg what if these Carter funeral pics are from a flash forward like with Belle in Emmerdale, like a Christmas Carol ep and this is the future if Linda keeps drinking? #EastEnders – I’m trying to remain hopeful guys.”

In addition to an upcoming funeral, the cast of EastEnders have been seen embarking on more celebratory times after they were spotted filming the wedding of Elaine Peacock and George Knight. In the snaps, actress Harriet Thorpe looked sensational in a shimmering gold wedding gown, as her vivacious Queen Vic landlady character unlikely to ever have gone for something demure. Co-star Colin Salmon looked the part in a sand-coloured suit, while other guests to the big day included Jamie Borthwick, who is currently balancing his soap role as Jay Brown with his Strictly Come Dancing training schedule as he competes with pro dancer Michelle Tsiakkas on the show.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
