The 34-year-old was sensibly dressed in leggings, an ivory fleece jumper and a padded gilet as she skated around the rink with a trainer to get a feel for the ice. When she was announced as a competitor on the celebrity ice dancing show, Ferne revealed her level of ice skating experience on Good Morning Britain. “I’ve done Winter Wonderland and stuff like that with the children, but you know the penguins? I’m hunched over one of those!” she said, and added: “I’m so excited, it’s going to be a huge challenge but I’m excited for the glitz and glamour of the show.”

Ferne will be competing against celebrities including The Traitors’ star Mollie Pearce, former Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, Coronation Street star Sam Aston, EastEnders’ Charlie Brooks, comedian Josh Jones, footballer Anton Ferdinand, wildlife TV presenter Michaela Strachan, Love Island ’s Chris Taylor, TOWIE’s Dan Edgar, actress Chelsee Healey and Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey. The announcement that Ferne was taking on the ice show challenge came soon after she made the surprise announcement that she’s quitting her own ITVBe series, Ferne McCann: My Family & Me, which has run for 13 seasons, after originally airing as Ferne McCann: First Time Mum, and follows Ferne’s family life with daughters Sunday, 6, and one year old Finty and her fiancé, Lorri Haines. Ferne with Lorri, Sunday and Finty

Ferne recently broke her silence about ending the show, revealing exclusively to OK! that she quit after daughter Sunday asked her one confusing question. The six year old asked her just four words which changed everything: “The point when everything changed was when Sunday actually asked, ‘Am I famous?’ A few of her friends had seen her on an advert. And I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t know…’ It made me feel uncomfortable because I don’t want her to feel she is different.” Ferne’s fiance, Lorri, took to Instagram to share his own feelings about the end of the series, writing: “Awww, it’s most definitely been a fun few years! I’ve enjoyed filming with you and everyone involved. I’m so proud of you for making this decision for yourself, the family and especially for the kids. Soooo many bigger things on the horizon which are very exciting. let’s gooooo x”.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
