Privacy NoticeThe beloved Miranda Hart is due to appear on Graham Norton on Friday night, 11 October, to speak about her new book, I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with you. In the book, she has candidly spoken out about her struggle with a private health battle that saw her gaining weight over the past few years. It’s not the only revelation the star has made of late, as she shockingly announced she’d secretly tied the knot to a ‘mystery man’. Sending fans into a frenzy, the 51 year old comedian confirmed live on The One Show that she had secretly married. The actress announced the happy news as she called her husband her “best friend” and gushed that “someone put a ring on it” after years of being “housebound with chronic illness.” She then excitedly showed off the rock on her finger to hosts Alex Jones and Alex Scott on Tuesday October 8.

Previous to this, before the release of her book, the actress confessed to feelings of ‘shame’ about her body’s transformation. Although she did not reveal details about her illness, Miranda took to social media earlier this year, admitting she struggled to recognise herself amidst these changes. The star has been putting in great effort to shift her mindset and combat the negative feelings she associates with her body image. Sharing her journey in an Instagram caption, she wrote: “I have found it incredibly hard not to feel shame from gaining weight over the last three years. Not because of striving for an aesthetic ideal but because it doesn’t represent me and who I naturally am.” Acknowledging the challenges that come with life and sickness, she highlighted the power of self-compassion and remained positive: “But life happens. Illness happens. And it’s a great way to keep focusing on the greatest healer – self-compassion. If I lose it or not I know I am loved. Peace out.” In her video, the star sported a chic tee with the term ‘proud’ at the forefront while promoting her book, reports the Mirror.

In a playful moment, Miranda teased that she had shed the unwanted midlife weight before cheekily hinting at her book, saying, “I haven’t been entirely honest with you,” alluding to its title. The comic expressed pride in overcoming the stigma surrounding her weight gain. Fans were quick to show their love in the comments, with one saying: “You have achieved all of these amazing things in life because of who you are, not because of what clothes size you are. You have a whole lot of love around you,” and another chiming in: “You are certainly loved! If only we could all give u the laughs and good feelings you’ve given us with your humour. Can’t wait to read it. And as for the weight gain: join the (very large) club.” Another fan said: “Miranda you are awesome. Every time I read your posts you give me a laugh or smile, you have a great sense of humour you are you and that’s what’s nice lots of celebrities are like two different people , the only thing anyone needs to be is happy with themselves.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
