Liam, who rose to stardom as one part of the globally adored boyband, shot to fame back in 2011 on The X Factor, where Simon Cowell famously grouped him with Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan to form One Direction. A source close to Zayn, 31, has shared with the world how the Pillowtalk singer is coping with the shocking news. A US music producer, who has been working with Zayn, told Mail Online that the star is in ‘shock’ after hearing about Liam’s untimely death.

The source continued, telling Mail Online that Zayn’s nearest and dearest are making sure he isn’t alone during this tough time, ensuring he’s ‘surrounded by friends.’ They revealed: “Zayn was told in the early hours of this morning and has been in absolute bits. He is in shock, and his parents have been in touch with Liam’s family to offer their support and condolences. People close to Zayn don’t want him to be alone at the moment, so he is surrounded by friends.” Furthermore, the source noted that it had been quite some time since Zayn and Liam last spoke due to ‘issues they had with one another in the past.’ Despite this, it was acknowledged that the two still held a mutual respect for each other ‘from a distance’.

In the heartbreaking incident, Liam tragically fell from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, sending shock waves across the city. Emergency units including police, firefighters, and ambulances swarmed the hotel after the horrific event occurred. Liam is thought to have fallen approximately 13 or 14 metres, an impact causing “very serious injuries incompatible with life,” according to initial reports. Meanwhile, Alberto Crescenti, a spokesman for the City ambulance service, has stated that the fall was closer to 40 metres and resulted in “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.” The local ambulance official released a statement to TN, describing the event: “At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.” The statement continued: “At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group.
