The singer, 31, who reached global acclaim as part of the beloved boyband since 2010, fell to his death from the third floor of a hotel into the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires. Reacting to the devastating news, Josh wrote: “Heartbreaking news. I just pray for Liam’s family, and all that knew and loved him. “He added: “Some of my fav memories in life were because of this man. No words. ” This was accompanied by a red heart split in two. According to US Weekly, following his fall, Liam had suffered a cranial fracture and a number of other serious injuries. Emergency Services chief Alberto Crescenti reportedly spoke to a local news outlet La Nacion and said: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention and try to resuscitate him but his injuries were incompatible with life.

He added: “Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death. The team could do absolutely nothing,” reports the Mirror. Liam has left behind his loving parents and his adorable son Bear, whom he shares with the Girls Aloud sensation, Cheryl Tweedy. Liam shot to fame alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson as a part of the chart-topping group One Direction. After their breakthrough on X Factor in 2010, the band captured hearts worldwide, with fans dancing to the beat of drummer Josh Devine, swaying to Sandy Beales on bass, and rocking out to Dan Richards on guitar.

The boys caused a stir among their devoted followers when they announced a hiatus in 2015. Reflecting on the break, drummer Josh chatted to Entertainment Weekly back in 2015, sharing: “It wasn’t a shock so much as … I think they definitely need it. When you’ve been on the road for five years, it’s inevitable. “People are going to need a break and it’s going to be nice for the boys, for them to just go ahead and live a bit more of a free life. It was going to happen at some point. “Everyone knew that it wouldn’t last forever, nothing ever does, so it wasn’t so much of a shock. But it’s getting to be more and more of a shock the closer it gets. I’m thinking, like, ‘Damn, this is real!”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
