Privacy NoticeMarried at First Sight UK star Adam found himself in the firing line on Thursday night as E4 viewers saw the couples have their first commitment ceremony. During the show, newlyweds Polly and Adam took to the couch to share their experience as a married couple so far. However, things quickly turned emotional as Polly shared her insecurities that her husband doesn’t find her attractive. He said: “If I’m affectionate with her and cuddly and kissy with her. I don’t want to give her the wrong idea because I don’t want to hurt her.” Expert Paul Brunson was quick to reply: “But you’re married and you’ve had sex?” The expert’s comment sent shockwaves through the room as many couples let out an audible gasp at the revelation.

Adam, trying to justify his actions, informed Paul that it felt natural at the time to sleep with his wife. Hitting back, Paul said: “That’s nonsense, my man! It’s like you want to swim in the pool but you don’t want to get wet.” Curious to get her thoughts, Mel Schilling asked Polly how she felt knowing they had been intimate and had now taken a step back. She replied: “I mean it’s not ideal because I think when I’m in a relationship I am very sexually driven towards someone, that’s just natural isn’t it?

Polly was highly emotional on the couch speaking to the experts

“I haven’t pushed that because I’m not having the rejection of someone again.” Getting overcome with emotion, Polly explained that in her previous relationship, she had felt extremely rejected. Through tears, she told the experts: “I’m not giving anything to anyone. I’m not forcing it, if I’ve got to force it then it’s not there. “I shouldn’t have to tell him to do something, he should want to do it and he’s not.” Adam was asked what he feels is holding him back, as he confessed: “I’m not perfect, but I am perfect for someone so I want someone who is perfect for me.”

However, his comment didn’t go down well with the experts as Mel highlighted the person he is married to on the show is incredible. Calling Polly an attractive woman, Adam revealed there’s something missing for him. During their session, he confessed he doesn’t like opening up and doesn’t want to get hurt. Mel replied: “If you listen to what Polly’s saying, she’s saying that too.” Despite their emotional session on the couch, both of them decided to stay another week to work on their relationship.
