It’s reported that Liam was acting unusually in his hotel room at Casa Sur Palmero in Buenos Aires, with hotel staff describing him as “an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol”. Local media reports suggest that Liam was seen “acting erratically in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop’ before he ‘had to be carried back to his room.” In a devastating turn of events, shortly after this call, hotel staff reported hearing a loud noise in the courtyard. Liam’s body was found just after 5pm. Audio related to the case obtained from the Buenos Aires security ministry heard a call from a worker that was requesting help with an intoxicated guest. The worker said: “When he is conscious he is destroying the entire room and we need you to send someone,” in audio obtained by The Mail Online.

Emergency medical services director Alberto Crescenti spoke to local news outlet Clarin after Liam’s death. He said: “We verified his identity using the passport he had,” before adding: “The team saw that he apparently had a fracture at the base of the skull.” Just months before his death Liam paid what is now a heartbreaking tribute to his beloved son, Bear as he celebrated his 31st birthday this year. The singer previously shared that his son is his spitting image. He posted a video expressing his excitement about spending time with him soon. In his final video about his son, Liam lovingly referred to Bear as his “mini me”. In an Instagram clip discussing the gifts he received for his 31st birthday, Liam mentioned he hadn’t seen Bear but was looking forward to it. “I didn’t get any dad socks yet though. I’m going to speak to my son in a little bit which I’m really excited about. Bless him. He’s getting so big now. He’s a big boy and he looks like a mini me. As if we needed any more me in the world,” he quipped.

Cheryl and Liam started dating after her split from ex-husband Jean Fernandez-Versini, whom she divorced in 2016. Bear was born in 2017. The former couple first crossed paths when Liam was a contestant on The X Factor and she was a judge. Cheryl has not yet commented following the tragic death of Liam, who sadly fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Local police reported that the 31 year old singer fell from the third floor into the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in the Palermo neighbourhood of Argentina’s capital, before medics confirmed his death. According to local police in Buenos Aires, the initial call was about “an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol”. Photos from the scene show stunned fans gathering outside the hotel after the area was cordoned off by police.

Forensic investigators, clad in white protective suits and blue gloves, were seen entering and exiting the premises, while fans were spotted lit candles and leaving flowers at the side of the road in a spontaneous vigil to honour the music star. The Foreign Office has confirmed that it is liaising with authorities in Argentina “regarding reports of the death of a British man”. However, a spokesperson declined to comment further, including on the identity of the man involved. Liam’s death follows widespread reports that his ex-fiancee, Maya Henry, had initiated legal proceedings, allegedly issuing a cease and desist letter due to repeated contact. The American model, who was engaged to Liam from August 2020 until their split in June 2021, claimed in a recent TikTok video that the singer would “blow up my phone” from different numbers since their break up. In the hours leading up to his death, Liam reportedly shared a video on Snapchat saying: “It’s a lovely day here in Argentina.” Liam formed the boy band One Direction in 2010, alongside Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles, after they individually auditioned for The X Factor.
