Privacy NoticeRebekah Vardy has taken to social media for the first time since news broke of her old rival Coleen Rooney’s supposed new reality TV venture. Over the weekend, it was reported that Wayne Rooney’s wife, 38, could be gearing up for a trip Down Under for the 2024 edition of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! – the reality TV show Rebekah herself starred in back in 2017. ITV bosses are reportedly hoping Coleen will dish the dirt on the Wagatha Christie drama during her jungle stint later this year. Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy, sued Coleen for libel after she was accused of leaking stories from Coleen’s private social media account to the press.

Interestingly, one of the fake stories Coleen posted on her Instagram Stories, viewable only by Rebekah, suggested the Scouse star was contemplating a jungle stint. Rebekah lost the case in 2022, with the judge ruling there was sufficient evidence to back Coleen’s allegations. More recently, Rebekah accused Coleen of misleading her legal team over court costs, but once again, she found herself on the losing side, reports the Mirror. Since speculation arose over the weekend about Coleen possibly joining I’m A Celeb, Rebekah has been notably quiet on social media. However, she broke her silence on Monday (14 October) night, posting a cryptic message to her Instagram Stories that seemed to hit back at the rumours. The quote shared with her 388,000 followers was: “Some people are mad at you because you are not suffering the way they expected you to. May God keep disappointing them.” Rebekah couldn’t resist adding two laughing emojis and the word “Literally…” to her post.

Even though a documentary has already aired about the legal tussle between the WAGs, insiders believe Coleen might spill some tantalising behind-the-scenes gossip. A source told The Sun on Sunday: “I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board. She’s always been a massive fan of the show and loves watching it with her boys. ITV are over the moon that the stars have aligned this year and she can fit it in. The series is set to be one of the best yet.” They added: “Coleen has a huge fanbase and she won massive plaudits for her classy handling of the Wagatha Christie case.” The legal battle that has gripped the nation since 2019 took another turn this week, with Rebekah being ordered to pay an additional £100,000 towards Coleen’s legal fees. This comes after a judge found Coleen’s accusations of Rebekah leaking stories about her “substantially true” by a judge in 2022.

Senior costs judge Andrew Gordon-Saker stated: “I think there is some scope for a further payment on account so the defendant (Mrs Rooney) is not kept out of her costs, and I think that should be no more than £100,000.” The hearing, which both Rebekah and Coleen did not attend, dealt with preliminary matters before a detailed “line by line” costs assessment set for next year. Judge Saker expressed the need for resolution, saying: “The parties need to get on with this and put it behind them. Realistically, it (the line-by-line assessment) is probably going to be next year, hopefully early next year.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
