Privacy NoticeLiam Payne, who tragically died on Wednesday 16 October, gave fans a rare glimpse into his life as a father to his seven year old son Bear earlier this year. The singer, who was notoriously private about his family life, shared an adorable photo of Bear on Instagram back in May. In the snap, Bear can be seen looking at a huge poster of his dad while wearing a yellow coat. The caption read: “I want to be on a billboard one day Daddy.” Last year, Bear’s mum, Cheryl, opened up about their decision to co-parent Bear following their split just after his first birthday. Cheryl and Liam always kept their son Bear out of the spotlight, but it seems he’s now aware of his parents’ fame. In a chat with British Vogue, Cheryl revealed that Bear thought it was “pretty cool” that his parents were celebrities, reports the Mirror. Despite this, she was adamant about giving him a ‘normal childhood’. “I don’t want people recognising him on the street. But he’s twigged that I’m famous. The other day he said, ‘How lucky am I to have famous parents?’ I said, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ He goes: ‘Yeah. But it’s pretty cool.'”

However, their relationship began to falter shortly after Bear’s first birthday. Liam even suggested that becoming parents “ruined” their relationship, but for “all the right reasons.” Despite their split, the pair lived near each other to co-parent Bear. “She is the best mum in the world. I couldn’t ask for someone better,” Liam gushed on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive. He opened up about his co-parenting experience, saying: “I get to take my son to school one or two times a week and it’s the best thing. The relationship we have now as friends has only grown more. We broke up for a reason and now she gives me full autonomy of my life and to do what I do and I know he’s taken care of. He is all she cares about and I couldn’t ask for more. They live like three minutes from my house. I always glue myself to where he is. My life now is his. My money is his. He’s a lovely, lovely boy. We’ve been blessed.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK! MagazineFacebookTwitterCommentMore OnCherylLiam PayneOne Direction
