The ex-singer had been close to the Oxo advert actress, having shared the ITV stage with her and being present during her final TV appearance as well. Remembering Lynda’s last interview with her on Loose Women, where she explained to tearful viewers that she was stopping her chemotherapy and wanted fans to remember her for being “honest”, Coleen couldn’t keep her composure. Even back then, Coleen struggled to find the right words and was in tears on set. A decade later, she remembered a moment they had shared after the emotional episode.

The singer recalled: “She hated smoking, but she said, ‘I’ll come with you. I might as well have a cigarette’.” Reflecting on that moment, Coleen said: “I really miss her,” as she started to cry. Later, emotions escalated as the cast were joined by Christopher Biggins – who also paid a heartfelt tribute to the courageous TV star, reminiscing fondly about who she was as a person.

They thanked everyone, including the folks at Loose Women for their efforts to keep her memory alive a decade later.

Over at the studio, tears were shed by all as they paid homage to the beloved star who sadly departed on October 14, 2014. The ITV team was heartbroken to learn about Lynda’s passing in the arms of her husband Michael, especially since it had been merely two weeks after she had last appeared on stage with Coleen. In an emotional close to the show, Coleen Nolan rose to her feet, initiating applause and a standing ovation in honour of her dear friend and co-star, declaring, “this one’s for you Lynda,” as host Christine Bleakley offered a supportive cuddle.
