Privacy Notice Libby Wallace, the 28 year old daughter of MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace, has announced her engagement to boyfriend Alex Marsden in a romantic Instagram post. She showed off her diamond engagement ring by holding her hand out against a background of pumpkins, writing: “I said yes in one of the most magical places on earth.” The couple were in Copenhagen at Tivoli Gardens for the proposal, one of the world’s oldest amusement parks, having first opened in 1843. The park is currently decorated for Halloween, boasting more than 20,000 jack-o’-lanterns as well as two haunted houses and a spooky theme throughout.

Last month, Libby and Alex celebrated their second anniversary together with a series of photos, and Libby also posted a picture of Alex on 2 October to celebrate his birthday with the caption “Happy birthday to my favourite little German boy xoxo.” Libby’s dad, Gregg, who also posted the engagement photo, is celebrating his 60th birthday today (Thursday 17 October). Gregg, who shared Libby and her brother Tom, 30, with his former wife Denise, who sadly died in 2017, is also dad to five year old Sid with wife Anne, 39. The couple married at Hever Castle in Kent in 2016, with Gregg’s MasterChef co-host John Torode serving as best man. The TV presenter has recently hit out at allegations he made “inappropriate sexual comments” during filming of a TV show six years ago. Taking to Instagram on Monday 14 October, Gregg posted a video in which he addressed the allegations: He said: “The story that’s hitting the newspapers, this was investigated promptly, when it happened, six years ago by the BBC, and the outcome of that was that I hadn’t said anything sexual.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

He continued: “Despite what the newspapers are suggesting, nobody six years ago accused me of flirting with anybody or hitting on anybody and the reason I say this is because of my wife, Anna. I have always been true to my wife Anna and have never flirted or hit on anybody in the 12 years that I met her and fell in love with her and it’s important that people don’t misunderstand that, that I am true to my wife.” The original accusations stemmed from an appearance on Impossible Celebrities, but Gregg also stepped down from presenting Inside The Factory in 2023 following further complaints that he had been “rude towards staff and continued to talk in a derogatory manner, especially to women,” during filming at a factory in York. The BBC have previously commented: “Whilst we do not comment on individuals, if issues are raised they are dealt with swiftly and appropriately at the time. We do not tolerate any form of inappropriate behaviour and have robust processes in place.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
