Privacy Notice Kate Middleton was gifted a rather “priceless” pair of trainers for Prince Louis, which he might not have had the chance to wear. The Duchess of Cambridge received the Adidas Stan Smith shoes, courtesy of the 1972 Wimbledon men’s singles champion himself, Stan Smith, back in 2019. The smash-hit tennis legend turned designer presented Kate with a pair of his coveted sneakers while in the Royal Box at Wimbledon during the Men’s Singles Final. Adding a personal touch, the outstanding gift was signed by Smith and included a touching “To Louis” inscription penned in gold on the side of the shoe. With royal commentator Ingrid Seward deeming them as “priceless”, Royal author Phil Dampier recently expressed to The Sun that these sporty kicks would likely stay unscuffed in the prince’s wardrobe.

He noted: “Little Louis is unlikely to wear them as they will be extremely valuable, especially as they were given to him. He won’t be aware of the history himself of course but when he becomes a teenager I’m sure he will treasure them.” There’s also a possibility that since the trainers were gifted in 2019, little Louis’ feet may have already outgrown the shoes, reports the Express. Illustrating the trainer’s appeal, royal author Phil said Stan Smith’s Adidas kicks are known as an “iconic” design and were all the rage in the seventies, way before Nike made its debut.

Given the increasing interest in the “simpler” and “stylish” designs, it’s clear Louis’ pair are certainly worth keeping hold of. The Royal expert predicted that it won’t be long before we see Prince Louis, along with his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, in the Royal Box at Wimbledon. He added: “I’m sure he will meet Stan there one day.” Their mum Kate has been a Patron of the Lawn Tennis Association since 2017 and is known to be a huge tennis fan. Plus, Louis has been the recipient of many special gifts over the years, one of which is a first edition copy of A. A. Milne’s book, Winnie the Pooh, believed to have been gifted by his Uncle Prince Harry. However, the royal writer believes Louis is unlikely to have actually read that copy, due to its immense value. Speaking to The Sun, he said: “It was lovely of Harry to give this precious book to Louis but I expect he has also got a cheaper version so he can read it properly.” “William and Kate wouldn’t want him thumbing his way through the expensive copy and ruining it by damaging some pages,” he continued.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
