Privacy NoticeThe Prince and Princess of Wales are well-known for their commitment to keeping their children’s lives private. Despite Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis making more public appearances last year, any official photos released on their birthdays or at Christmas always cause a stir. Usually, these laid-back snaps are taken at home, but in 2021 the family switched things up and took their festive photo during a private trip to Jordan. Not much was shared about the holiday initially, but it was later revealed that they stayed in an area famous for its Hollywood connections. It turns out the Wales’ visited the city of Petra in Jordan, with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Jordan, Nayef H Al-fayez, revealing the exact location on Twitter, reports the Mirror.

Petra has been featured in many Hollywood hits, including Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade and The Mummy Returns. Before she married Prince William, Kate lived in Jordan with her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her younger sister, Pippa, in the 1980s. During a five-day Royal tour of the Middle East in 2018, Prince William visited the country and even posed at the same site his wife had done several years earlier.

Prince William recently embarked on a nostalgic journey alone, as his wife Catherine, the Princess of Wales, was on maternity leave after the birth of Prince Louis. The Prince of Wales shared that Kate was “very upset” about missing out on the trip, especially since she had fond memories of visiting the area. During their time living in the country, the Middleton family had once taken a charming family photo amidst the ruins of an ancient Roman city. Although Kate couldn’t be there to relive the memory, William took it upon himself to recreate the moment. He even took some solo pictures and with a smile, he made a heartfelt promise, saying: “Need to come back with the family for this shot”.

The Christmas card from Kensington Palace last year captured the Wales family in black and white posing together in matching white shirts. In the past, the family’s Christmas cards have always been endearing. The 2020 image presented them outside their Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall, near a pile of logs. For the 2019 card, the family chose a coordinated blue theme, with Prince William posing on a motorcycle.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
