Privacy Notice Kensington Palace has confirmed that the Princess of Wales will not be at an event on Friday 12 July where Prince William will be taking to the polo field at Windsor for an annual charity polo match. Prince William will be competing in the Out-Sourcing Inc Royal Charity Polo Cup 2024 at Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park, to raise funds for good causes. It will be the 13th time William has played in the event, which is expected to raise £1 million this year and take the total amount raised over the years to more than £13 million. Causes that benefit from the charity match include the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Wales Air Ambulance, Royal African Society, Place2Be, Mountain Rescue England & Wales, SHOUT, Child Bereavement UK, Action for Children, The Blackthorn Rally, The Royal Marsden and HMS Oardacious Fund. However, Kate, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, will not be able to show her support. Kensington Palace has confirmed she will not be among the spectators watching her husband compete in the match.

Kate recently made a brief return to the public spotlight with her family for Trooping the Colour in June, and there has been speculation she may attend the Wimbledon finals on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July in her role as patron of The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club. In a statement released last month, Kate revealed she she was making good progress but was “not out of the woods yet” and had “good days and bad days” as she continued her treatment. William is expected to fly to Germany on Sunday to watch England’s football team play Spain in Berlin at the European Championships 2024 final. He was previously seen in Dusseldorf for England’s quarter final match against Switzerland on Saturday 6 July.

William regularly attends big football matches in his capacity as president of the Football Association, the governing body of soccer in England and Wales, and in May he attended the FA Cup final match between Manchester United and Manchester City, along with his 10 year old son Prince George. The Prince also shared his support earlier in the Euros, after England’s nerve-shredding match against Slovakia on Monday 1 July. After England won, following Jude Bellingham’s last minute overhead kick and Harry Kane’s extra time goal, Prince William wrote on the official Prince and Princess of Wales account on X: “Emotional rollercoaster! Let’s go England!” Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK! MagazineFacebookTwitterCommentMore OnKate MiddletonPrince William
