Privacy NoticeA royal expert has poured cold water on speculation that Zara Tindall might be in line for a princess title. The 43 year old daughter of Princess Anne did not receive the title in her younger years as her mother declined the late Queen Elizabeth II’s offer. The Princess Royal wanted Zara and her brother Peter to experience life away from the spotlight of being a royal. Zara has been a visible presence at her uncle’s side, most recently at the Windsor Horse Show and Royal Ascot, leading to speculation that she might be about to get a title.

Unique reason Prince Louis could get Prince Andrew’s title one day

Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, Daily Mail Diary Editor Richard Eden said: “We all love Zara and we’ve seen her quite a lot. We saw her at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party supporting her cousin Prince William and it’s something that would be popular,” reports the Mirror. He added: “Her and Mike Tindall are very popular members of the Royal Family but I think it is very unlikely to happen. She’s very busy, has lots of business and it would be awkward.” Daily Mail’s Royal Editor, Rebecca English, agreed with the sentiment but added, “It won’t happen. I mean she has obviously a very full life as a you know professional equestrian with a lot of sport sponsorships. There’s not actually a carved out role for her financially, you’d then have to create a role, would the King have to support her financially? Personally, I suspect he would if he did that.”

Moreover, Rebecca mentioned that Zara might make more appearances at palace events when her cousin, Prince William, becomes king. On a similar note, The Express highlighted that Charlotte Griffiths from The Mail on Sunday perceived a “really deep bond” between William and Zara, which could prompt her enhanced involvement in his future reign. Charlotte shared: “William really trusts her and loves her, you can just tell they have a really deep bond, and I think he trusts her more than any of his other cousins. And it’s such a delicious irony, isn’t it? That she’s the one who had the HRH taken away at birth by Anne and has emerged as the most natural, most relaxed, most trustworthy members of that extended Royal garden party pack.” Closing off, the editor pointed out Zara’s fantastic work and indicated she may not yearn for the princess title initially. Reminiscing about the past, Zara once touched upon not being granted the title at birth, stating: “We were very lucky that we got to do it a bit our own way.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
