Privacy Notice The golden opportunity for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to finally mend their ties with the Royal Family might lie in their children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie. A royal expert believes that 2024 could be the year the Sussexes try to rebuild their relationship with the family – a plan that seems all the more important for the Duke. While talking about the possible reunion on GB News, presenter Patrick Christys and expert Kinsey Schofield speculated that the grandchildren could be the couple’s ticket back into royal circles. The royal commentator agreed with this and said it would be an ideal path back into the good books of the monarchy. Sign up to OK’s royal newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Kinsey said: “If Harry did want a way back in he could use the excuse that despite his personal beef with King Charles, he wants his children to have a relationship with their grandfather, it would be the perfect way back wouldn’t it?” She further pointed out a previous incident: “Well don’t forget according to reports when Prince Harry received the phone call that he was being evicted from Frogmore Cottage, he said to his father ‘Don’t you want to see your grandkids anymore?” According to the Express, Kinsey added: “So you are exactly right if there is a way in, Harry is already thinking about it.” Harry, despite any family tensions, has made a couple of quick trips back to the UK this year – one of these was in February after it was confirmed his father, King Charles, had been diagnosed with cancer. Meghan Markle stayed in the States with their children, Archie and Lilibet, for both visits, reports the Mirror.

The young royals haven’t spent much time in the UK, with Lilibet visiting only once since her birth in June 2022 and Archie, born on native soil in 2019 but relocated to America when he was less than twelve months old. They now all live a luxurious life in a fabulous £12 million mansion in Montecito, California. During Harry’s most recent visit back home in May, royal experts suggested it was unlikely the Duke would bring his kids over due to concerns with safety measures. While chatting on an episode of A Right Royal Podcast, royal insider, Hannah Furness gave her opinion: “There is quite a heavy narrative that Meghan and the children won’t be coming back until they can resolve this security issue to their liking. But [Harry] will certainly be coming and going.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
