Privacy NoticePrince Harry’s recent comments about the UK being ‘unsafe’ for his family have sparked concerns that King Charles may not see his grandchildren again. The last time King Charles was with Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, was in June 2022 during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a visit. However, Harry has expressed concerns over safety issues preventing him from bringing his family to the UK. Speaking to ITV, the Duke of Sussex said: “All it takes is for one lone actor who reads this stuff to act on what they’ve read. And whether it’s a knife or acid, these are things that are genuine concerns for me.”

After losing his High Court bid in February over the government’s decision to strip him of his official police protection, despite no longer being an active member of the Royal Family, the situation remains tense. Joe Little from Majesty magazine commented: “It would be great to think that at some point soon the King would get to visit the grandchildren that he has seen very little of. “But he is 75 and still not in the best of health. A visit to America is unlikely to be a priority now, given the other demands on his time. It’s an incredibly sad situation that few would have predicted even five years ago,” reports the Mirror.

The King was spotted looking in good spirits during the weekend as he engaged with the public as he made his way to St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham Estate. However, Royal commentator Margaret Holder remarked: “You’ve got a grandfather, who is undergoing cancer treatment, becoming more and more remote. It is very difficult for the monarch to travel as a private person. All kinds of diplomacy would have to be involved to get the King into California. “It is Prince Harry who increased the risk to himself, his wife and his family by boasting about killing 25 Taliban fighters in his book. So King Charles is forced to be a distant grandfather that the grandchildren never see.” Despite the ongoing security saga, Harry is expected to challenge the High Court’s decision regarding his security arrangements, but insiders suggest he will likely attend the Invictus Games in Birmingham in 2027 solo.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
