Privacy NoticeMeghan Markle was ‘adverse to the royal framework from her earliest days’, a stance alleged to have sparked a fiery exchange between Prince William and Prince Harry, according to a royal author. A book by Robert Lacey suggests Prince William separated his household from Harry following an intense conversation about claims Meghan was intimidating royal staff in 2018. The contentious call is described in Robert’s Battle of the Brothers as concluding with Prince Harry reportedly hanging up on William, who had accused Meghan of being “hostile,” to the monarchy, hinting she might have had plans to abandon the institution and move back to the US from the outset.

Moreover, one royal aide allegedly resigned after alleging bullying by Meghan Markle. According to a Page Six article, a human resources complaint lodged by communications assistant Jason Knauf in 2018 purportedly stated, “I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year.” However, in his autobiography Spare, Harry countered the accusations, asserting that his spouse “checked on staff who were ill, sent baskets of food or flowers or goodies to anyone struggling, depressed, off sick.”

The Sussexes have reportedly faced some staff turnover, with a source telling the Daily Mail that Harry and Meghan’s chief of staff stepped down after just three months, finding that certain aspects of the role “weren’t for him.”, reports the Mirror. Josh Kettler is said to have felt uncomfortable with parts of his job and decided it was best to leave rather than stay in a position he wouldn’t enjoy. The rift between the brothers has been escalating over the past few years, reaching a boiling point following Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, which came a year after their dramatic departure from the Royal Family.

The situation intensified with the release of their contentious Netflix docuseries, where the couple levelled astonishing allegations against William and Kate, none of which have been publicly addressed by the Royal Family. Adding fuel to the fire, Prince Harry’s memoir Spare delves into his perspective on Meghan’s relationship with Kate, disclosing private details about a dispute between them. He recounts an incident where Kate supposedly ‘grimaced’ when Meghan used her lipgloss and another where they clashed after Meghan suggested Kate had “baby brain” following the birth of Prince Louis.
