Privacy NoticePrincess Charlotte may be a royal, but she’s just like any other child her age when it comes to her favourite hobbies. Her parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, have always strived to give their three children as normal and as private an upbringing as possible. While they usually keep their family life away from the spotlight, they occasionally share glimpses into their children’s activities. During a joint visit to Ireland in 2020, Kate revealed that Charlotte has a passion for gymnastics and is showing real talent. “Charlotte is really into gymnastics, she’s doing cartwheels, handstands, everything,” Kate shared during a visit where the couple met with circus performers. “It’s so good for their basic skills of balance and coordination.”

Prince William added: “And their flexibility, it’s really good for their long-term health, isn’t it? We went to watch the Cirque du Soleil recently, it was amazing.” Rumour has it that Charlotte also enjoys another hobby ballet. Reports suggest that Charlotte has been taking weekly private ballet lessons at a dance school in south London. Kate is known to have taken her daughter to see The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House in central London. The young royal is also said to enjoy tennis and horse riding.

Kate and William have been gushing about Princess Charlotte’s passion for ballet, a sweet nod to her late grandmother, Diana, Princess of Wales. It all came out when Kate spoke with English National Ballet director, Tamara Rojo, in 2017, revealing Charlotte “loves” dance. Diana, who also dreamed of being a ballerina when she was young, was turned away for towering over the rest of her classmates. Despite that, Diana became a big supporter of the English National Ballet and once stunned the audience with a secret performance at London’s Royal Opera House. Back in December 1985, she and Charles were watching the show and towards the end, Diana sneaked off from the royal Box to dance to Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl,” with Wayne Sleep.

Wayne later recounted to HELLO! his memorable moment, saying: “I walked in and I looked up at this towering sort of goddess above me and I thought: ‘This Isn’t going to work; it’ll be hysterically funny’. “Then I said: ‘You know, I’ve been up very late last night. Do you mind if I sit down?’ And she said: ‘No, not at all, you naughty boy.’ From that moment, we started giggling and laughing. “We had the same schoolboy humour. I was her sort-of jester, in a way, but we did get on incredibly well. We had something that clicked. She had natural style.
