Privacy NoticeA psychotherapist has explained why he believes Prince Harry and Prince William are protective of their wives Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. The feuding brothers have rarely spoken over the last four years since Harry stepped back as a senior royal, following numerous high-profile interviews and books. But, with the news another pair of brothers have supposedly mended their feud in the form of Noel and Liam Gallagher, parallels have been drawn between the royal brothers’ feud. Psychotherapist Noel McDermott and LBC presenter Rachel Johnson discussed any potential similarities between the Gallagher and Windsor sibling disputes on the show last night (Sunday, August 25). Mr McDermott proposed that there could be a link, as both sets of brothers shared significant childhood relationships with their mothers. He elaborated that “for both sets of boys there’s something about mum going on”, with Princess Diana for the royals and Peggy for the Gallaghers playing crucial roles. Mr McDermott spoke about interrupted attachments and how Harry and William may have been seeking that attachment later in life.

He explained: “This sort of interrupted attachment, this attachment style that I talked about…trying to find a safe attachment which wasn’t available earlier on. Then you get overprotective about that and so that would be the theoretical model I’d be working with.” Rachel added: “So what I’ve often thought is that Harry has replaced Princess Diana with Meghan in his emotional landscape…Kate is Princess Diana for William. So, any insult to their wives is insulting their mother.” Mr McDermott then continued, saying: “It’s really touching the trauma of that experience. So, touching upon that, training on that has to be done very lightly.” Rumours have now circulated the estrangement between the brothers could extend even to William’s future coronation. Sources told The Times that Prince Harry had been “outrageously disloyal” prompting speculation that William might exclude his sibling from the Coronation ceremony. Regarding the brothers’ rift, another associate remarked: “They are estranged, which is dreadfully sad.” Though the Royal brothers aren’t currently conversing, they might reconcile if Harry decides to return to Britain.

There are questions over whether Harry and William could end their feud in the future

Meanwhile, Tom Quinn, a told biographer, told the Mirror: “Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential. Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband’s relatives.” “If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK. But it’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
