Privacy Notice Prince Harry is all set for his next adventure, less than a month after his successful four-day tour of Colombia with wife Meghan Markle. The Duke has confirmed he’ll be jetting off to New York City in September, without his wife by his side. The news was announced on August 27 by a spokesperson for the Prince, who revealed that Harry’s visit will coincide with UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week. Climate Week kicks off on September 22 and runs until September 29, while High-level Week runs from September 23 to September 27. Harry, 39, will be in the Big Apple to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives.” He’ll be busy with engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst, the spokesperson added. Not only that, but Harry will also “be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the nonprofit organisation he co-founded with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.”, reports the Express. Interestingly, despite having undertaken two high profile trips this year with Meghan, to Nigeria back in May and Colombia earlier this month – Harry’s upcoming trip will be a solo one, focusing on causes close to his heart. The trip will also coincide with another huge event happening in the city at the same time, as Prince William’s Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, is also due to take place on September 24. Prince William, 42, kicked off the competition back in 2020 with the main aim of sparking impactful and sustainable solutions to some of the planet’s most pressing environmental issues, including conservation, deforestation, and climate change.

As part of the yearly contest, the Prince intends to hand out £1 million Earthshot Prizes in five categories each year until 2030. While it’s still uncertain whether Prince William will be present at the summit in person, he did make an appearance last year and this year’s late September date also coincides with his children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis returning to school after their lengthy summer holiday. Prince Harry’s impending return to New York also signifies a significant comeback for him, as it’s the first time since October 2023 that the Prince has visited New York City, following The Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age last year. The crucial summit gathered parents who had suffered heartbreaking loss linked to their child’s social media use, and the Duke and Duchess engaged in a poignant on-stage conversation with Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, moderated by Carson Daly. Clearly dedicated to safeguarding children online, the couple even unveiled a new initiative earlier this year related to that summit, when they announced the launch of The Parents Network just before Meghan celebrated her 43rd birthday at the beginning of the month.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
