Privacy NoticeMeghan Markle may have a star-studded contact list, but it seems there’s one A-lister who isn’t quite taken with the Duchess. This March, Meghan unveiled her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, sparking comparisons to other wellness gurus like Gwyneth Paltrow and domestic goddess Martha Stewart. However, Martha reportedly finds the parallels between her and Meghan “irritating and insulting”. A source explained to In Touch: “Martha has seen hundreds of Meghan types come and go – and says they all come in with the same self-inflated hype, only to find out it’s a whole new ball game when it comes down to brass tacks. She’s tired of being quizzed by people over how she feels about Meghan’s venture because, honestly, it’s irritating and insulting to her that she’s being compared to a rookie!”

Another source said that Martha has dedicated “decades building her brand” and remarked: “If Meghan thinks she can come along and replicate that with barely any experience simply because she’s married to a prince, she better think again. Martha doesn’t put a whole lot of faith in her succeeding, but if she does prove to be any competition, Martha won’t hold back in trying to take her down.” There was a buzz of excitement swirling around Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard venture, with a source telling PEOPLE that it “will reflect everything that she loves – family, cooking, entertaining and home decor.” The source added: “She is excited about her latest, personal venture,” and “This is something she’s been wanting to do for a while. She is excited to share her style and things that she loves.” Initially teasing potential offerings such as jars of jam and dog biscuits with whispers of a rosé wine to come, Meghan even has a Netflix cooking show lined up to boost the brand, reports the Mirror. But the months have ticked by with little to show since its announcement. OK! has approached representatives for both Meghan and Martha for comment. It comes as Meghan and Harry experience backlash against their recent Colombia tour. As well as being accused of costing the poverty- stricken country £1.5 million in security costs alone, many people felt they were trying to outdo Harry’s family by trying to do an official royal tour, despite them quitting their roles in the Royal Family over four years ago. “They quit the royals, so why are they trying to do official visits and take attention away from the real royals?” one asked, while another fumed, “Meghan and Harry want to have their cake and eat it. But they need to decide if they want to be Hollywood stars or royalty, you can’t be both.” A source exclusively told OK!: “Both Meghan and Harry are keen to do more of these tours as that’s what they love doing and what they enjoyed most about royal life. But they’ve been left embarrassed by this latest backlash, especially as they faced similar comments when they went to Nigeria. They want to help raise awareness to the issues some of these countries face and they know their profile can highlight that. They also know that these trips help elevate their status in Hollywood and in turn help their brand. They don’t want to stop doing them but are unsure of what to do next to win everyone over again.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
