Privacy NoticePrince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden have announced that they are expecting their fourth child. The Swedish royal couple married in June 2015 after dating for five years and share three sons – Prince Alexander, eight, Prince Gabriel, seven, and Prince Julian, three. In a statement, Prince Carl and Princess Sofia said: “Their Royal Highnesses Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their fourth child. Princess Sofia is feeling well, and the birth is expected to take place in February 2025. During the autumn, no changes in the public schedule of Princess Sofia are planned.”

The announcement was accompanied by a charming photo of the pair, featuring Prince Carl Philip grinning at the camera while his wife lovingly rests her head on his face, all set against a backdrop of a breathtaking lake and mountains, reports the Express. Just recently, the couple were guests at the wedding of Princess Martha Louise of Norway and Shaman Durek Verrett. This exciting news comes just before the Royal duo are scheduled to visit Varmland, Prince Carl Philip’s duchy, from September 4-5. Married since 2015, the couple plan to spend time in Arvika, Eda and Karlstad over two days, focusing on “resilience and sustainable change,” as per the county’s official website. Prince Carl Philip, the only son of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, is currently fourth-in-line to the Swedish throne, following his older sister, Crown Princess Victoria and her children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar. Princess Sofia, who was previously a glamour model and reality TV star in Sweden, first crossed paths with her now-husband in a nightclub. The palace confirmed their relationship in July 2010, and just nine months later, it was announced that the couple had moved in together.

The Royal pair reside in Villa Solbacken, a stunning estate nestled on the outskirts of Stockholm’s Kungliga Djurgarden (Royal Game Park). Despite being a Royal residence, the home is relatively modest by regal standards, spanning around 2,600 square feet. Prince Carl Philip is affectionately known as the “party prince”, with the former Naval lieutenant being a keen race-car driver and cross-country skier. He met his wife Sofia at a Stockholm nightclub and while many aristocratic insiders wrongly predicted that the couple wouldn’t last, their relationship has stood the test of time. Their lavish wedding, which was attended by the crème de la crème of European society, saw Sofia walk down the aisle in a custom gown by Swedish brand Ida Sjostedt and a diamond tiara designed by her prince charming himself.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
